Snapchat CEO Joins Metaverse Critics List
The CEO of Snapchat now has critics on the Metaverse. The CEO of Snapchat, Evan Spiegel, has reportedly attacked Mark Zuckerberg's plans for the metaverse virtual world, according to Business Insider. A full day at work makes me want to "live inside a computer" when I come home.

As part of his plans for the Metaverse, a society in which people communicate within a digital environment using their own avatars, Zuckerberg renamed Facebook Meta. The initiative has already cost $15 billion, according to the Facebook creator, who also predicted that in the future, individuals will communicate with scientists through the Metaverse.
However, Snapchat's president and founder, Evan Spiegel, does not share this opinion. He decided to concentrate his company's efforts on advancing augmented reality rather than virtual reality. This was not Spiegel's first attack on the concept of the Metaverse; earlier this year, he declared that his company refuses to use the term "metaphysics" and that the concept is ambiguous and hypothetical.
At the time, Spiegel stated, "Our fundamental bet is that people genuinely prefer the real world; they want to meet with their friends in person. One of the broad, overarching concepts that people have is that a lot of these products are meant to replace reality. "
Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, is one well-known industry executive who disagrees with Spiegel's view of the Metaverse.
