WhatsApp is developing a new function that will convert audio communications into text.

WhatsApp, a widely used messaging software, is currently developing a new function that would transcribe audio chats into text. For those who choose not to listen to their messages, this means they may be read as normal text.

The next version of WhatsApp will have an audio transcription option.

WhatsApp is developing a new function that will convert audio communications into text.

According to WABetaInfo, the newest beta of WhatsApp for iPhone now has the ability to transcribe audio communications. By analysing the message's audio, the programme may convert it into text. Naturally, there are constraints given that this is a beta version.

Transcriptions are unavailable in a number of cases, including when no words are recognised or when the audio message is not in the language selected for transcriptions. However, all transcripts will be processed locally on the device and not transferred to WhatsApp or Apple servers, which is a huge plus for privacy.

Currently, the transcription function is only available in the beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone, and its availability on the Android app is unknown at this time. One of WhatsApp's key rivals, Telegram, already has features like audio and video transcription.

Telegram Premium users, however, will have access to this option. Everyone will be able to use the WhatsApp function at no cost.

Whatsapp Info Expanded

Several days ago, WhatsApp revealed a slew of upcoming updates. Responses on Status, Voice status updates, and link previews on Status are all examples. The team has also been developing a new feature that will allow customers to communicate with themselves.

Additionally, WhatsApp is still hard at work on a new version of its macOS client that has been rebuilt from the ground up using Catalyst technology. On the other hand, it is unclear when either the new macOS software or the audio transcription capability will be made accessible to the general public.

Through this update, WhatsApp users will be able to connect through proxy server and avoid being subject to internet filtering.

Users of the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c will no longer have access to WhatsApp.
