Egypt

Today, however, we travel over huge oceans and into the arid regions of the African continent to see a wonderful nation that is not only remarkable for its history but also for its vibrant culture that thrives under the rays of life and moves forward with a lot of optimism.

Welcome to Egypt, a gorgeous, breathtaking, and storied nation. Hello everyone. What's the status?

Here at FTD Facts, welcome.

I'm pretty thrilled today. You guys already know it from the title. We only kind of touched on it. Men and Egypt are the topics at hand. As is customary on the channel, we do polls, and a few weeks ago, you guys said, "Yo, we want to see Egypt next, but we've been doing some FIFA stuff." This is why I'm thrilled about it.

Let's start with the foundation. With a population of 97 million, or 293 300, it is the thirteenth most populous country in the world as of today. Remember that.

This is only an estimate for 2018, as the country's 2017 census reported 94 million people, which, guys, is pretty insane. That indicates that three million individuals were born in the nation this year, I suppose.

I don't know whether additional people relocated, but all of these people reside in an area that is around 1 million square kilometres in size, making Egypt a sizable nation in actuality.

Its land area ranks 29th globally, and when combined with its population, it has the 18th-highest population density in the world, with 96 persons per square kilometer. Ok, I don't want to start out negatively, but this is simply a reality that sort of popped out straight away.

And the reason I've had to talk about it is that, when I discuss land size, I often include the water percentage because, in the case of Egypt, it has a water percentage of 0.632 percent, which is ludicrously low considering that water is a major concern in this nation. In any case, it's not just access to water.

More than half of the population lacks access to safe, hygienic water. This is a significant issue in Egypt, and regrettably, as a result of diarrhoea, they estimate that 50,000 children die every year as a result of simply So yes, I know it's awful to start with a percentage, but since I was talking about water, I just want to get that bad one out of the way.

Let's discuss some positive aspects of the nation. The majority of the water in all of these rivers really originates from the Nile, which is the second-longest river in the world with a total length of 6,850 km. This brings us to one water-related point.

Of course, there have been many debates about which river is longer—the Nile or the Amazon—but in reality, they're rather close to one another, and while some people might think the Amazon River is longer, the Nile River is actually one of the most significant rivers in all of human history.

The reason for this is that most Egyptian cities, not only in Egypt but in the modern world as well, were constructed along the riverbed within Egypt.

In history, it helped us create civilization, which has built up to the modern world. Today, we know, and with that in mind, let's take a look at the GDP now for these countries. We like to use the purchasing power parity because it's a great way to compare agents' now, for parity, GDP purchasing power, which zeros out and sits at approximately one point two trillion dollars according to the current estimate.

Just looking at the GDP for 2017, it is now ranked 21st in the world. In terms of the GDP per capita problem, that's quite decent. At this point, it starts to resemble a twelve because Egypt is listed as having about 6,700,000 people and a dollar per person on the per capita list.

And with this GDP, they are making a lot of effort to enhance and advance that. For instance, we need to examine the nation's exports. For instance, Egypt currently ranks seventh in the world with exports of almost $20 billion. Egypt is ranked 59th in the world for petroleum exports, and crude oil is by far its largest export. Which sits at approximately fourteen percent old But let's not forget good old-fashioned Egyptian country, which makes up 10% of all the exports within the world, and those two are just like the obvious exports that people think of when you think of Egypt because, for some people, they may not think that agriculture is actually a big thing, partially because they've probably seen a lot of movies of Egypt and they think, "Well, it's a big thing,'s maybe just a "dry country, desert sort of," and although they say that the desert makes up about 90% of all of Egypt,

They are actually the largest producers and cultivators for dates out of any country in the world; they are the largest producers and cultivators for dates out of any country in the world; they stand second in the world.

Well, they sit at fifth in the world, and for its agriculture, it actually makes up over twenty percent of the total workforce, and oddly, out of all the Arab countries, Egypt is one that isn't as dependent on as much oil. As a matter of fact, as of 2018, it didn't have the largest GDP that was related to oil. Based on all the Arab countries gone, So there you are, guys, as much as you may think it's just oil coming from Egypt and that they have no agriculture points, which is a little bit wrong on that one. Now. Let's quickly jump over to imports, because they sit at approximately $68 billion and rank 42nd in the world.

Now, the largest thing that they import is refined petroleum and patrol, with a total of nine point nine percent of its imports, but also Egypt is a huge importer of wheat, which makes up about four percent of its imports as a matter of fact.

Egypt has such strong relations with the United States when it comes to wheat that they are the largest wheat market for the United States. With a total import of 1 billion dollars, the United States is now supplying up to 46 percent of all of Egypt's wheat needs for this economy.

It is all under the supervision of a unitary semi-presidential government, which means they actually have a president and a prime minister. I did not know that the current president of the country was Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

and the prime minister being Mustapha Bully. And of course, at the height of all this, the capital of the entire country is—you probably guessed it. Cairo Now Cairo itself is one of the largest cities in not only Egypt but the entire African continent and is considered the 15th largest city in the entire world.

Modern Cairo was founded in 99 AD by the Fatima dynasty, but the ground on which the new city stands was at one point one of the major centres of ancient Egyptian culture. For example, Old Cairo predates the Fatima dynasty, and because of its great history, it's not only one of the world's oldest Arabic cities, but it's also been designated a World Heritage Site since 1979.

So, of course, when we talk about heritage and Egypt, we gotta mention the fact that it has a lot of heritage, as during the height of the ancient world, it was, I mean, they have really good guesses, but truthfully, some scientists ago and we still don't really know, but one thing that's very interesting about its history is its artifacts, and for example, let's take the oldest piece of clothing that was worn by a human being, which was found in Egypt now This was more or less a dress than any random piece of clothing that is known as the Tarkan dress, and it was discovered in 913 ad and is approximately over 5,000 years old and currently at the University College of London.

Now, Egypt is a very big and well-defined country, but if you go down to the southern area of the border, you'll notice that its border is dotted instead of straight, and this is So basically, there's a lot of confusion about who kind of owns this area going back and forth between the two countries. But as for the continent to the left, it is the only region on earth that is considered habitable.

That is not claimed by any known government. Now one thing that we all know about the history of Egypt is that they were really great builders and artists, but one thing that has not really been talked about when it comes to the history of Egypt is how the Egyptians created what is now considered the first real synthetic pigment. It is known as Egyptian blue, and it is seen in many drawings on the walls and hieroglyphics.

This particular type of pigment was used for thousands of years. It is also known as calcium copper silicate, although it is more popularly known as Egyptian blue.

Especially by the English since its term was coined in 1809. Some people also call it cerulean. And lastly, guys, this is the fact that I was telling you about earlier, the one that totally blew me away, the one that I think you guys might get blown away by, and that is that the Statue of Liberty in America was not originally going to go to America but was actually going to go to Egypt.

That is right; the original design for the Statue of Liberty didn't have her designed as a Roman woman. But as a Muslim woman in a veil, this is because the original sculptor, Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, originally intended to have the Statue of Liberty be a beacon that was guarding the newly designed Suez Canal, which opened in 1869, and at that time it was going to be known as Egypt, carving the light to Asia.

However, unfortunately, Egypt actually rejected this plan outright, and instead he decided to pitch it towards the Americans and changed the Muslim look of what is now known as the Statue of Liberty to that of a Roman-looking woman.

So there you go, guys; those are some amazing facts about Egypt, and I hope you guys learned something great here today. My name is Dave Wawa, and guys, I'm just so happy to have learned some of these great facts, and I hope you guys are too.
